That is what I love about Giroux.. In a way he reminds me of a smaller Foppa with how plays ..Just intense , driven and a bit nasty..

I really hope they open up against the pens...A healthy Crosby vs a healthy Giroux will be fun.

I think Holmgren's lack of concern on the defense may well be because he's got something up his sleeve.

Are you really ready to give him a clean slate? I'll believe it when I see it.

Really could care less how Bryz deals with the media. If the "new" Bryz involves stopping the puck, then I'm all for it.

i would think he has to. the real decision is the level of plyr he wants to add...going from a gonchar up to nick leddy or even looking at a major bid for someone like pk. either way, it's inevitable before the trade deadline.

Just so it's not Subban... If anything, they need improvement on defense, not a "defenseman" who is always out of position because he's too busy trying to be a forward, and being a distraction off the ice.

I disagree. I'd love to see him in orange and black. I think he's going to be the real deal for a long time.

And a long-term contract is no guarantee of a long-term captain.

*cough* Richards *cough*

As to Tim's approach to Bryz, who flipping cares? All he has to do is play well. I don't care if he attends every after-game press conference in clown makeup.

Well, offer sheets don't just happen because you offer it; the player has to agree to it. unless the Flyers really royally screw him over, there's no way he walks away, especially when he can get 8 years in Philly as opposed to 7 anywhere else.

Giroux is great... but... I'd wait on the "C". A couple reasons. Why not wait - short term. This year with a depleted defense and a questionable goalie, may be rough. Depending on Timmo's plans, I assume Timmo maybe done after this season - possibly one more. I give it to Timmo. As a thank you, and show of respect. Giroux can be an "A", for one and a half more years. Despite being different people... I keep thinking how Richards went from hero to villian all because of the "C".

I'm with you. When I read all of this nonsense about his personality, I just laugh. It's all about stopping the puck. If he's playing well, then he's a great interview and a good place to get some quotes. If he's playing poorly, then he's quirky, and unfocused, and not handling the pressure well. All a bunch of BS.

Bryz played poorly during parts of last season. He was also the player of the month in March and who know how he would have finished up if he didnt chip a bone in his foot. I dont find him to be as much of a question as some people seem to. Their D on the other hand has me worried because they played poorly last year and on paper got worse this year.

Giourx and Richards are not the same players nor do they come off as having anything close to the same personality. At least not that can be determined via 24/7 or normal interviews with Giroux vs Richards.

I would ok with given Timonnen the C..That makes sense honestly for this year..then G next year.

The goosebumps will all go away when he announces the signing of Wade Redden to a 1-year contract at half his salary, shared with Rangers. For some reason I feel that is coming.

Happy thoughts, happy thoughts.
